Our second option for your interactive technology needs is using our auction site www.bidlive.net.
We can still provide tablets using this option but these need to be connected to the venues Wi-Fi to connect to an online browser. Using Bidlive.net, your guests also have the option to use their smartphones, receiving notifications via text and email and the option if required to pay via secure links text and emailed to them using Stripe.
Both options appear the same and provide a live leader board.
Bidlive.net can be used as an online auction leading up to an event. If Bidlive.net is used at the event then the auction will just continue until the end of the evening. If used prior to LiveBids (option using tablets and our own Wi-Fi) then bidding can be transferred over.
Bidlive.net can be offered as an option for clients to run their own auction with access to their own admin page. Using this option guests normally use their smartphones. The choice of technical back-up varies depending on the option you choose.
Bidlive offers the option of competitive or sealed bidding. Competitive bidding displays current bids and bidders, sealed bidding accepts all bids at or above the reserve to give you the chance to decide which bids to take.
Once bids are submitted all screens and devices are instantly updated showing any new bid. The auction items are shown, slowly scrolling on a screen placed conveniently for bidders to view or on multiple screens and projectors around the room. This enables guests to clearly and easily see what the auction items are and what the current bid is.
As the evening goes on, guests continue to bid until the auction closes. A countdown on the screen shows how long is left. If required a running total can be displayed too.
Choose the right option!
It is our commitment to provide the option which makes our clients the most money!
Auction lots provide tech bidding solutions for many events and a variety of clients and recommend the following;
Tablets are the favoured option at most events. The option to just pick up a tablet on your table, register and bid rather use your phone is preferred by bidders as well as our clients. This also means venue Wi-Fi is not required.
The best payment collection is without doubt, at the venue when the auction closes. In our experience passing the responsibility to your guests to make online payments can take time and lead to bidders pulling out of bids later or the following day!
Bidders are still very hesitant to give card details prior to bidding which can put guests off registering and in turn bidding.
Our reporting system allows us to print individual winners forms for staff to approach them to collect payments using mobile card machines. Alternatively a payment station can be set up for winners to approach.
At the end of the event
Once the auction has finished, a detailed report of the winning bids and bid history is printed off and given to the host so that money can be collected. Alternatively the collections can be made by Auction lots staff using our hand held card units. A 2% admin charge is made on all payments taken by Auction Lots. Guests have the option to pay by credit card at the event with a member of staff or via a safe online procedure by following a link from a notification email & text.
After the event
Auction Lots are able to chase and collect outstanding payments if needed. If we have taken payments, auction lots guarantee to forward the cleared funds within fourteen days of the event.
Each event will be attended by at least one technician included in the price to set up, monitor, run the auction and be on hand to answer any questions and print reports.
Our friendly, helpful and professional hostesses are all experienced with the system. They will not only help guests during the bidding process and take payments, etc. but help with anything on the evening such as meet & great, raffle and main auction. They are available to work as part of your team for the duration of the event.
Auction lists in the form of a printed pamphlet/brochure are usually also provided as picking one of these up to see what’s on offer is still a great way to view the lots.
